How to Add Clickable Images in Data Studio

If you’re here, you probably want to add clickable images to your Data Studio reports. So, let’s skip the preamble and get straight to the how-to.

1. Start with an image

  • Add a new image to your report or select an existing image.
    • To add a new image component, click the Image icon on the toolbar. You can either upload an image from your computer or provide the URL to an image file hosted online. You can also drag and drop images directly onto your report canvas.

If instead you are looking to add clickable images in a table using URLs from a data source, check out our post on Adding Images to Tables in Data Studio.

2. Enter URL

  • Click to select the image component.
  • In the Image Properties panel, enter the desired destination URL in the Image Link URL field. The URL must begin with https://
  • Switch to view mode and test out your newly clickable image! The link will open in a new tab by default.

With native image links in Data Studio, you can link your logo to your website, add custom page navigation buttons, or even create a portal to other reports and pages.

Let us know how you use clickable images in your Data Studio reports!
