Google Analytics has a lot of capacity but there are limits to the number of views, segments and data you can store.
Here are links to Google resources to help you find information about limits:
- Account Structure Limits (maximum views/profiles, properties)
- Collection Data Limits (per session, visitor, day, month)
- Segment Builder (segments, days included)
- Custom Variables and Custom Dimensions/Metrics
Numbers can change at Google’s discretion.
If you hit a limit on views, and if you are an Adwords advertiser, you can try calling to get the limits increased (for example if you need more Views). Otherwise, you may have to create another GA account.
If you have run out of views or properties because you have lots of microsites/sites included, you may have to create a new account. Since you cannot transfer data, plan your account structure/hierarchy ahead of time. Here’s an example of account hierarchy.
