Recover deleted Google Tag Manager container or accountThe Google Analytics Trash Can has been a self-serve saviour to many who accidentally deleted a property.  Now, Google has also created a Trash Can for Google Tag Manager.

Full instructions on how to restore your Google Tag Manager account or container are in this support article.

What’s important to know is that if more than 30 days has passed from the trashed date, the deleted item is permanently deleted with no possibility of recovery.

Unique Dimension Combinations (UDC) to Replace Deprecated “Unique Events” Metric

nique Events Metric DeprecatedIf you’ve been creating custom reports with the Unique Events metric you may have been surprised by the recent appearance of a yellow triangle, with the message “WARNING: This Metric is Deprecated”.

Actually, it’s the name, and not the actual metric, that’s deprecated and will be going away.

The current Unique Events metric is being renamed.  It’s new name is Unique Dimension Combinations, and a brand new metric Unique Events (New) had been added.

Confusing?  We’ll explain the reasons for these changes below.

Google Analytics Demo Account: Get Access Now

Google Analytics is best learned by doing, and one of the major barriers to learning has been access to a well implemented account and data to practice on.

Well, that barrier’s evaporated.  Today, Google product manager Deepak Alujla announced access to a Google Analytics Demo Account to anyone who has a Google signin.  The account and data you have access to is for Google’s online store, a real live site from which you can buy Google, YouTube and Android merchandise.
